Title: Equivariant formality and the cohomology of subgroups of right-angled Coxeter groups

Abstract: In this talk, we discuss how the cohomology of coabelian subgroups of right-angled Coxeter groups can be studied using geometric models given by real moment-angle complexes. Using this perspective, we obtain a combinatorial criterion that determines when the cohomology of such a subgroup is free as a module over a natural polynomial ring arising from its abelianization.
