Abstract: In this talk, we shall give a brief review on the p-adic Riemann hypothesis for exponential sums. Let (n,d;p) be a triple of natural numbers with p being a prime number prime to d. The triple gives birth to the geometric invariant HP(n,d) on the geometric side and the arithmetic invariant GNP(n,d;p) on the arithmetic side. We shall define a simple geometrically defined polygon FP(n,d;p) that lies between GNP(n,d;p) and HP(n,d).
