Abstract: Hochschild and Quillen cohomology are among the most powerful tools for studying invariants of algebraic and homotopical structures. Our recent work focuses on formulating these cohomology theories for operads and algebras over them, as well as on the relation between Quillen cohomology and deformation theory. In this talk, we will present some of the main results in this direction. We will also outline directions for future research, including obstruction theory for operads and classifying spaces of $E_n$-algebras.
