The Summer Seminar on Functional Analysis and Spaces is held annually, hosted by the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, Harbin Institute of Technology. It aims to bring together experts and scholars in functional analysis and space theory for in-depth discussions on current mainstream topics, build a platform for young researchers to exchange and collaborate, and support the rapid growth of more young scholars in this field.
The 2026 program will continue to focus on mainstream problems in modern functional analysis and related directions. This workshop will center on Fourier multipliers on noncommutative Lp spaces and their applications, engaging in thorough study and discussion of their intersections with harmonic analysis, operator algebras, and quantum probability. The workshop will also invite senior experts and outstanding young scholars to exchange and collaborate on the above topics and on frontier advances in theories such as noncommutative Lp spaces, harmonic analysis, probability theory, and quantum information.

Program (updating)
Working group on noncommutative Hilbert transforms and applications
Abstract: The goal of this working group is to understand the progress on Hilbert transforms on noncommutative Lp spaces made by Mei, Ricard, Parcet and so on, as well as recent applications in the theory of von Neumann algebras, for example the asymptotic freeness and absorption properties.
The presentations in the working seminars will be primarily given by volunteer junior participants, directed by the organizers as well as other top experts in the field.
