Abstract:In this talk, we will introduce the wave packet propagations in honeycomb latticed materials. Two-dimensional honeycomb-based materials possess subtle physical phenomena and broad prospects of applications. Theoretic researches on these materials become more and more important. We consider the effective dynamics of wave packets spectrally concentrated at a Dirac point in modulated honeycomb materials, and rigorously estimate the error of the asymptotic solutions based on the effective envelope Dirac equations with a varying mass. This makes the connection between original wave systems and effective envelope equations, and also clarifies the validity of such Dirac-type equations which are widely used in applied fields.
