Abstract: We study the class of Sobolev functions from a one-dimensional interval into a measurable family of Banach spaces. Namely, the class is closely related to the Lp-direct integral. To define weak derivatives we introduce a notion of local Bochner integral. Then the basic properties of Sobolev functions are revised. Particularly we provide the characterization of Sobolev functions in terms of an upper gradient.
